Designing dolls has been my passion for over 40 years. I especially loved the rag dolls like Raggedy Ann forever. Now I design dolls both in the pancake style of Raggedy Ann or in a soft-sculptured face style. I love puppets and also love designing miniature puppets. I learned so much about the importance in being playful in designing and life and feel that most people respond to whimsy and fun. Children, of course, learn best in play and can express themselves incredibly well in art and creation of art. Jim Henson is my inspiration and holds the key to my heart when I design and research my dolls. My second greatest passion is teaching the art of designing dolls and puppets. I must admit that I learn more about myself through teaching than I could have ever imagined. I hope you love the dolls here in my shop and I am always open to new ideas and suggestions. After pursuing an art therapy degree at Ursuline College, I decided that my direction in making dolls was to have my dolls touch people's hearts and maybe bring a message, to be a companion or to guard secrets. My favorite dolls are my story dolls. They each have a story to tell about themselves and perhaps can share their experiences with you.
